We are open!

We truly so thankful to welcome you back to the winery after such a heavy time.

While our winery & vineyard received very minimal damage from Hurricane Helene, there is still so much recovery to be done in our community. Some roads remain impassable, many homes were washed away, and, most devastatingly, lives were lost. Those things don’t heal in days, weeks, months, or even years. We have created a page here on our website with information about local people & trusted organizations you can give money to, and we encourage you to do so!

Our Current Policies:

Hours

Our current hours are 12pm-5pm daily. This helps make sure that our customers and staff are traveling the roads while there’s still a little daylight.

Kid-Friendly

We are welcoming back people of all ages to our winery again. It’s important now, more than ever, that children are under constant supervision by an adult while here at the winery.

Be Mindful

Lastly, if you are visiting us from out-of-town, we ask you to be mindful as you come to our area, for your safety and for the respect of so much still going on in our community. While the winery is located along a main highway and a lot has been cleared, there is still debris in the shoulders of the roadway. Other roads in our area are much-less passable. Research your route before you head our way. Please also be patient and respectful - there might be some traffic and waiting involved during travel as there are still roads reduced to one lane, and work happening to restore infrastructure. Do not go to the most damaged areas of our county “just to see it”. Those places still have deep need, and we want the paths there as clear as possible so there’s nothing impeding access.

Thank You

Now, with all of those caveats, we are happy to say that we will be business-as-usual for enjoying wine flights, glasses of wine, or a bottle of wine here at the winery. No reservations needed. Please reach out to us if you have any questions!

With love,
The LFW Family & Staff

Open Roads in Our Area

Updated 11/14/24

Here is an image with the most up-to-date information about travel in our area. If you’re viewing this on your phone, we recommend saving the image to your photos so you can better zoom in to see the details. A couple of notes:

  • We didn’t expand the map far enough to show this, but Hwy. 105 from Boone is open

  • Portions of the Blue Ridge Parkway have reopened, but not the portions closest to us

  • We are located on Hwy 221, but Hwy 221 is closed to the South of us. A mile North of us there is a “road closed” sign meant to give large trucks a heads-up about the road closure so they can re-route. You can (carefully) go around that sign to get to us. :-)
